The term Fire and Ice Artist is
closely related, and is applied primarily to recent art inspired by, or
illustrating, fantasy literature.
Contemporary ink artists have taken what their pen and ink predecessors
have taught them, utilizing the practice as a skill honing endeavor on the
part, with an emphasis on making preparatory ink sketches for his oil
paintings.
Once that got approved we moved onto inking- ink right on
top of my pencils, but we always make sure to have a scanned copy at a decent
resolution just in case I slip up. A lot of Fantasy Art top inkers recommend brushes to help you get a good line weight
into your artwork, this can make your drawings a lot more dynamic and it really
helps to give a sense of depth.
Over the course of six weeks of intensive training and
education, students will gain increased proficiency in painting, drawing and
illustration techniques relevant to creating their own fantasy drawings,
paintings and comic book art and will also increase their knowledge of the
history of fantasy and comic art! No, the main reason to watch Fire and Ice all
these decades later — and the reason we are covering— is that is fun for fans
to play Spot-The-Frazetta. The film's quality doesn't approach Frazetta's
painting and illustration work, but Frazetta was a full and committed
collaborator in this film, and its fun to see his compositions, set pieces, and
favorite visual concepts peek out from behind the film's curtains. For more
