The History of Fantasy Art & Fantasy Artists

Arvell Jones, who showed up earlier in the countdown, Keith Pollard was one of a group of notable comic book artists who came out of the Detroit area, following in the footsteps of their fellow artist, Rick Buckler, who broke in first as a star artist and then slowly but surely brought his friends along, as well.

In 2007 she created New Sensations, a prize for art students which identifies and supports the most exciting emerging artists in the UK. Prior to joining the Saatchi Gallery, Rebecca worked for 14 years in book and art magazine publishing: she was editor of ArtReview, and before that deputy editor of Modern Painters.

For me, the art of those old Vampirella magazines is one of my key touchstones as an artist and represents the type of comics I would like to see more of. But he's best known in comic circles for his artist/writer creation Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, part of 'The Holy Trinity' of modern graphic Fantasy Artist novels (along with Moore's Watchmen and V for Vendetta) which transformed the world of comics to cater for a mainstream adult audience.
